Educational program "Postal Road"
Take a journey back in time, when messages traveled not through fiber optics, but through the rumbling wheels of carriages and the echo of horse hooves. The educational program "Postal Road" invites you to explore one of the most important highways of the 19th century - the St. Petersburg-Warsaw tract - and feel the authentic atmosphere of the old post office in the largest surviving post office complex in Lithuania.
What will you experience during your education?
- Historical stop. You will learn how the old postal system worked, what significance this station had for Utena, and what personalities stayed here while traveling through Europe.
- A creative experience. Together with theater and visual artist Dalia Kiaupaite, you will immerse yourself in a living story. This is not a dry history lesson - it is a creative process that combines art and heritage.
- Secrets of the Post Office. You will hear about postal couriers, horse exchange rituals, and the long journey of letters sealed with wax to their addressees.
- Authentic spaces. You will be able to see the surviving post office palace, stables and courtyards, which are being reborn today as a modern center of culture and creativity.
Why is it worth participating?
This is a unique opportunity to visit an object that is a true symbol of Utena. The program is perfectly suited for both those seeking historical knowledge and those who want to spend time creatively in a unique environment.
