October is Organ Donation Month. It's a time to remember organ donors and their loved ones - people whose kindness and sacrifice have given others the opportunity to continue living.
On October 9th at 11 am, we invite you to meet at the Utena Hospital sculpture "Heart" and celebrate Organ Donation Day together.
On this day, together with other Lithuanian cities, we will light candles and create a heart shape from them - a symbolic sign of gratitude and respect for organ donors.
During the event:
we will honor organ donors and their loved ones;
we will hear a speech from Lina Paulauskienė, head nurse of the Intensive Care Unit and donation coordinator of Utena Hospital;
at a meeting with representatives of the Utena District Municipality and Utena Hospital;
we will share relevant information and statistics about organ donation;
Together we will create a symbol of light and gratitude – a candle heart.
This event is about life, hope, gratitude, and people whose decisions can change someone else's life.
We invite hospital employees, patients, their relatives, and all the people of the city of Utena to join us.
