In October, at the Utena Museum of Local Lore, we invite you to visit the exhibition of textile works "Sewn Time" by members of the joint rural community "Lunka", operating in the town of Saldutiškis. The exhibition presentation will be held on October 7, 2026 at 4 p.m.
This exhibition is also special for the museum because it is the first exhibition in the newly revived exhibition hall of the museum's basement. The delicate, cozy and intimate space gives textile works a special atmosphere, allowing you to experience the colors, patterns, textures of fabrics and the beauty of carefully crafted handwork up close. The exhibition presents works born during three years of project activities. This is the result of the creativity, togetherness, patience and love of the community members for the textile craft. Three projects were implemented during 2024–2026:
2024 – "The Story of One Quilt"
2025 – “Play of Colors in Quilts”
2026 – "Why is the highlander so clever?"
The main activities of all three projects are quilting and organizing exhibitions. During these years, community members created, learned, experimented with colors, patterns, and fabrics, and presented their work in various exhibitions.
The projects are partially financed by Utena District Municipality.
Each year, their sponsor, UAB "notPERFECLINEN", contributed to the implementation of the projects, donating linen rags from which the quilts exhibited at the exhibition were sewn.
We invite you to the presentation of the exhibition and to visit the new exhibition hall in the museum's basement for the first time - a space where time, colors, and human handiwork are woven into one story.
